Although Summer may be coming to an end, we might as well celebrate all the joys Fall has to bring! (including a delicious flavour profile)
Here are five simple cocktail recipes to sip on as you enjoy the last of beach sunsets and beginning of cozy evenings.
1. Fall Sangria

Ingredients:
- 1 apple
- 1 pear
- 1/2 orange
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 750 ml bottle dry red wine
- 1 750 ml bottle sparkling cider or apple cider
- Optional garnishes: Cinnamon stick, rosemary sprig, remaining orange slices
Instructions:
- Cut the the apple, pear, and orange in thin slices, then place them into a bowl and mix in the sugar and cinnamon.
- Transfer fruit to a large pitcher, and allow mixture to sit for 1 hour for the flavours to meld.
- After 1 hour, pour in the red wine. You can use it immediately, or chill for up to 3 hours.
- To serve, fill a glass with ice. Fill halfway with sparkling apple cider, then halfway with sangria mixture. Garnish with your choice of a cinnamon stick, rosemary or orange slices.
- Once your drink is finished, enjoy the fruit as a boozy snack!
2. Apple Cider Mojito

Ingredients:
- Ice
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 c.
- Gold rum
- apple cider
- Mint, for garnish
- Apple slices, for garnish
- Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
- Fill 2 glasses with ice.
- Add the juice of half a lemon to each glass.
- Divide the rum between the two glasses, then fill 3/4 of the way full with apple cider.
- Top each with a splash of seltzer and stir to combine.
- Garnish with mint, thyme, and a slice of apple.
3. Harvest Mimosa

Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 (32-oz) container cranberry juice
- 1/2 gallon apple cider
- 1 bottle prosecco
- 1 apple, 1/2 diced and 1/2 sliced into half moons, for garnish
- 1 package whole cranberries
- Combine sugar and cinnamon on a shallow plate. Dip the rim of each glass in water, then dip into the cinnamon-brown sugar mixture, to coat the edge of each glass.
- Fill a champagne flute 1/4 of the way up with cranberry juice. Fill halfway up with apple cider. Top with Prosecco and a few cranberries and diced apple pieces.
- Garnish with slices of apple.
- Garnish with an apple slice.
4. Apple Cider Mule

Ingredients:
- 4 oz. vodka
- ginger beer
- sparkling cider
- Sliced apple, for garnish
- Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
- Fill two copper mugs (or your favourite glasses) with ice. Pour 2 oz vodka into each cup.
- Fill 2/3 full with sparkling cider.
- Top with ginger beer.
- Garnish with an apple slice and a cinnamon stick. Serve.
5. Apple Pie Sparklers

Ingredients:
- 1 cup sparkling cider
- 1 cup moscato
- 6 oz. Vanilla Vodka
- 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar
- Apple slices, for garnish
- Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
- Wet rim of glasses with a slice of apple and dip rim into the cinnamon sugar.
- Pour 2 oz. vanilla vodka into each glass, then fill halfway full with moscato.
- Top with sparkling cider.
- Serve with apple slices and cinnamon stick.
